Are the BlooSee services free?

Yes, BlooSee is free for anyone to use. There are, however, some premium services only accessible to users who pay a (small) yearly fee. These are not yet implemented, and we will announce when they are.

Will the BlooSee free services be free in the future?

Yes, absolutely. Free services will remain free.

Who can register? Do I need to be an expert?

Anyone can register. It is free (and you can do it in one easy step!). No, you don't have to be a nautical expert to start using BlooSee. If you consider yourself a beginner in the nautical world, you can learn from those who know best and use all the information published in the system. Eventually, you'll surely find some information to publish that can be useful to others.

Why should I update the system with information I have? What do I get in exchange?

First of all, you'll be helping others. If you publish first-hand information about the waters you know best (for instance, the dangers to avoid when approaching that wonderful anchorage you know) you'll be helping sailors that do not know that area so well. In exchange, when you sail other areas you've never been to, you can take advantage of the information provided by others. This is a collaborative project, sharing nautical knowledge will make us all richer! Besides, you can always make private any specific information you publish (favorite fishing spots, anyone?), so it is you who decide what to share and what not.

Who developed this system?

You can learn all about it in the About Us section of our website.

What's this BlooSee name?

Well, in case it's not obvious, BlooSee stands for "blue sea" (but you knew that already, didn't you?) The right way to use our name is to write one word, with the B and S in uppercase and the other ones in lowercase. BlooSee. As simple as that.
