Infopoint Types

Infopoints belong to categories, which are essentialy a way to group together types of infopoints that relate to each other. When you're navigating the chart, you can switch the visibility for a certain category on and off. So if you're for instance looking for places to shelter your boat (harbors, anchorages, moorings, etc.) you may disable visibility for other categories that might be distracting in this case (such as Tourist Information, Underwater, or anything which is not Facilities and Navigation Aids) and concentrate on what you're looking for. The system will show all categories by default.

Current categories are:

Facilities

Shelters (harbors, anchorages, moorings...) and other related information. Useful when planning a route to decide where to start, where to arrive, what services to expect at your destination, etc.

Navigation Aids

Lights, buoys, beacons, landmarks and everything that helps you navigate safely.

Dangers

Dangers to be aware of.

Services

Services useful for boaters: from fuel stations to places to buy ice or have your sails repared, including doctors, pharmacies, banks, supermarkets...

Sports and Activities

The best spots to practice sea-related sports.

Tourist Information

While on land, you'll want to find good restaurants, sightseeing places, and other related information.

Underwater

For die-hard scuba divers or occasional snorkelers, this category holds the interesting spots that lie below the surface.

Fishing

You may mark your favorite fishing spots using the infopoints found under this category. Remember that you can make your infopoints private, for your eyes only, in case you don't want to share this precious information with others.

Other Resources

Institutions, nautical events and other resources that do not fit any of the above categories.
