Description

When the water level of the Wamberal Lagoon becomes too high as a result of rain, the town council cuts out the a section of the beach to drain it. The result is a near instant river that runs into the sea. It is fun for surfers and bodyboarders as multiple standing waves appear through out the drainage. In a matter of minutes the trickle turns into a raging river and the waves and rapids are massive. Locals are happy to jump in and play in the surf.
