Description
The Mercator Museum contains the Mercator map and globe collection of the Royal Archaeological Society of the Land of Waas (Oudheidkundige Kring van het Land van Waas) the most important in Belgium.
The jewels of this collection are a terrestrial globe made by Mercator in 1541 and a celestial globe made in 1551.
The museum is also home to several exhibits on modern carthographic techniques.
