The Silver Dragon is one of the biggest tidal bores in the world. It takes place near the mouth of the Qiantang River in the city of Hangzhou, usually around the eighth lunar month. Thousands of spectators line the banks to watch this phenomenon and every year some end up being washed into the river.

This epic break has been surfed only a few times. Special permits are needed.
