Pavones is a remote, yet popular surf break along Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast. It is considered to be the one of the longest waves in the world. The left breaks over sand and reef. When the swell and conditions are ideal, the wave wraps around the point and can provide rides up to a minute long. The main peak is for experiences surfers, but on most days they wave breaks in different sections, allowing for more novice surfers to approach the wave farther down the point.
