Asan Beach, part of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park on Guam, is the site of the landing of US forces on Guam on July 21, 1944, following which the US recaptured Guam from Japan.
Asan Beach, among other events, was the site of a refugee camp in 1975 for 110,000 Vietnamese refugees fleeing the fall of South Vietnam via Guam.
