Ventspils is an important harbour, because there are not many ports along Lithuanian and Latvian coasts. There is quite a big swell in this part of Baltic, when it is blowing from West and Ventspils can be entered even in bad weather. The marina is OK, the old town and parks are beautiful, there are many sculptures everywhere and a nice Aqua Park. Place worth visiting.
