'An artificial island which used to serve as a support for a pulley system that pushed boats out to sea or towards land. At the other end of the wire was the Machine House, demolished when the promenade was built in 1994' (source: brochure "Route 6. Baix a Mar and Cal Bofill. Turisme Torredembarra).
Above it rises the sculpture "Alfa i Omega. Principi marí" by Rafael Bartolozzi.
