Description
Midway Atoll is enterily littered with cigarette lighters, bottle caps, toys, plastic fragments and other plastic objects that albatrosses find floating on the Pacific, mistake for food and bring to the island inside of their bellies. Adult albatrosses feed these plastic objects to their chicks.

When the breeding season is over, thousands of decaying bodies of albatross chicks cover the island, almost all of them containing some amount of plastic, and some completely choked with it that there’s no mystery how this bird died.
