Description
This barge is known as the Hughes Mining Barge, built in the 1970’s officially for mining the sea floor but really to pick up a Russian submarine in Project Azorian. It was later used for construction (Port of Redwood City) and storage of the Sea Shadow (IX-529), the US Navy’s stealth demonstration ship. Both the barge and ship inside are available to any interested and qualified museum.
