Puerto Piriapolis is about an hour and a half bus ride from Montevideo through some very interesting counrtyside. The puerto is full service with haulout, repairs and showers for the cruiser. The city center is a short walk along the quay where there are many restaurants (food not the best but the price is right!) and a supermercado. This was the place to be several decades ago, now it is Punta del Este.
