Between 1976 and 1985 Marine Science Under Sails ran marine science and sailing education voyages from Big Pine Key, Fl to Belize City, Belize and back.

Two sailboats made the 3-week summer voyages;

Moku Maki (“sturdy little boat that goes to sea”), a 42’ ketch refit from a 28’ sloop once sailing Lake Erie. Captain New Webster was the vessel’s Owner and Master.

Water Spyder, a 41’ junk-rigged trimaran also made the voyages, Capt. Earl DeTurk was Owner and Captain.
